1 + 6 =

One day beginner’s class for those who have never hit hot metal before. You’ll learn about shop safety, how to build and maintain a forge fire, basic metallurgy, and fundamental blacksmithing processes. You will learn to taper, scroll, and twist metal to make a basic tool to manage the fire in your own shop. If you come just to get a taste of blacksmithing, you’ll use the same skills to make decorative ‘S’ hooks or a simple bottle opener. Please pack a lunch, or plan to visit the Publix or Subway, which are a short drive from the shop.
